Kid Rock steelers in the Turning Point halftime show

Post by Richard Sinkler »

Does anyone know who Robert Ritchie's (Kid Rock) steel guitar player was on " 'Til You Can't" on the Turning Point halftime show yesterday. There were really no good shots of him.

Yeah, no I didn't get a good look either. Looked like a Sierra. Brett might know.

Cool. I thought it might be Eddie. BMI instead of Sierra, my bad.

Wow. Thanks. Nice playing. That song was the highlight of the show.

They had a nice closeup of him next to Kid, you could also hear him well in the mix!

It was a very nice spot. The strings interlude/intro was just fabulous.

I just listened to Cody Johnson's version (with Mike Johnson), and prefer Kid Rock's slower, more emotional version, although Cody Johnson's version is great. Great song.

Scott, I forgot that I thought the bands didn't play.
For big shows. they don't want any room for mistakes and things are often timed to the minute/second. I think the Turning Point show ran over.

I split off a sub-topic that started to get political/cultural. It was a matter of time before it exploded. The topic is steel players on the Kid Rock show. Bad Bunny, SB halftime vs TP halftime are off-topic.

"Cowboy" Eddie Long used to play a Sierra when he was working with Hank Jr in the late eighties, but now plays BMI steel guitars
