I’ve been a Freddy Roulette fan for a long time but have never seen much live work on video. Wow! YouTube fun tonight!

I saw him at the Fillmore in San Francisco accompanied by Steve Kimock. I really enjoyed watching Steve's face as he watched Freddie play.
He was a unique steel player and is missed.

Freddie Roulette was a master bluesman. Great stuff! Freddie fans would likely appreciate Houston bluesman Hop Wilson's stinging blues steel guitar. Judging from published photos, Wilson played D-8 Stringmasters, Grand Consoles, and Consolettes.

Yes Hop Wilson is great too! There’s a CD I’ve had since the 90s which is a collection of his singles and some alternate takes of songs well worth having. Listen to the song Merry Xmas Baby, boy Hop’s Xmas don’t sound so merry! Seems he recorded on a few regional labels one being the Goldband label. He was part of the gulf coast sound like Lazy Lester and Lonesome Sundown. The Fabulous Thunderbirds early albums heavily mined this sound.
