Hi Dan,
Looks you are "on the cutting edge."
Virtually all the great sacred steelers will be there, including some like Lonnie "Big Ben" Bennett, a seasoned player who is yet unrecorded. Robert Randolph has been honing his chops--he gets hotter by the day.
We will be recording the showcases and concert on Saturday (multi-track digital, of course) with the plan of getting enough for another Arhoolie CD.
The Wisdom Channel, a satellite TV station owned by Ted Turner, will be videotaping for a black gospel documentary that will include Shirley Caesar, the Williams Bros., et al. I'll post the broadcast info when I know it.
Speaking of video, the Arhoolie Foundation's 1hr Sacred Steel documentary is about 99.5% done and looking great! We will be preview screening it at the convention, so you will be among the first to see it. We expect to release it in May.
See you in Orlando!
[This message was edited by Bob Stone on 14 March 2000 at 11:40 AM.]
