The JG40 is actually a Mini, with a few tweaks...and I'd bet he'd build a Mini if you wanted one...

I sold my mini and got a JG. It is a major upgrade.

I like the size and weight of the Mini compared to the JG.

I didn’t notice a difference. Are we talking about the same amps ?

Comparing my mini to the specs. of JG, it's 1"w x 5"h smaller and depending on speaker the mini ranges from 32lbs to 40lbs, the JG is 47lbs. I got Tim to install a recondition JBL120.

You might be right ! I’ll check into it. In any case I was astonished at the improvement in the sound and response of the new JG. Tim just keeps getting better. He nailed it with those new JBL style speakers too.

Yes I discontinued a number of amps when I announced the 45W Tres Leches model a few weeks ago. The 40W Mini, 30W Dairy air and TV40 are off the roster.

My JG40 model can be made in the small cabinet just like the 40W Pedal Steel Mini. They are essentially the same amplifier - you do not need to get the JG in the wall of sound looking cabinet. The JG is the superior amp by a mile, in my opinion (and experience after gigging with mine for over a year)

You will also notice that I refreshed the Steel Guitar Half and Half. I completely re-worked that model and it's also better than it has ever been. Once we get the video done, I will start posting about it here. The new steel hybrid comes standard with one of my JBLs, has the balanced line out, and I finally gave in and put a master volume control on there :)

Ever since I took on the JBL project and starting building speakers in house I wanted to shift as many models as I can over to the new Alnico K120 speaker or the ceramic E120 style speaker. My new steel amplifiers will all come with a brand new JBL of some kind. I have the Alnico, the Ceramic, and also a Neodymium option for those who want to keep it light.
